What a Class A license lets you drive
A Class A commercial driver's license covers any combination of vehicles with a gross weight rating over 26,001 pounds where the towed unit is heavier than 10,000 pounds. That means semi trucks, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers and livestock carriers. It is the license that opens up over-the-road, regional and local freight work, and it is the one most national carriers hire for.
If you only plan to drive a box truck, bus or dump truck, our CDL Class B training may be the faster and cheaper route.

How Class A training works, step by step
1. Get your CLP
We help you pass the DOT physical and the Nevada commercial learner's permit written tests. Self-study or instructor-led permit class, your choice.
2. Behind-the-wheel training
Pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, coupling and uncoupling, and road driving with an instructor in the seat next to you.
3. Test and get hired
Take your skills test in house on the equipment you trained on, then work with our placement team on carrier applications.
Class A pricing
The Fast Track package is $4,500 and is our most popular option. The all-inclusive Pro package is $6,250 and covers the DOT physical, permit and testing fees, six test attempts and up to 20 extra hours of training. Full details are on our CDL training cost page.
